The crime series Šéfka is a unique look at a team of investigators and their colleagues. As well as the ten closed cases, viewers are treated to very powerful personal stories of the main characters, who are directly affected by the cases they investigate. The series shows how easily the investigators themselves can find themselves at the centre of crime, not in a professional capacity, but as victims or even suspects. In each episode, the team of Major Karla Langer (Kateřina Winterová), Captain Richard Čech (Jan Holík) and Captain Jan Trunpeta (Petr Konáš) investigates a murder case with an unexpected and surprising outcome. But Karla is on her own, investigating on a much more personal level - trying to solve the death of her husband, a former policeman shot in the line of duty. This sets off a chain of events that will eventually affect the fate of everyone around her. (TV Nova)
